Welcome to embodiment week, love
Last week we spent a lot of time unpacking. You’re probably wondering, “now what do I do with all this stuff?” We’ll get there shortly, but first it’s important to understand how we accumulated all this clutter in the first place.
As humans, when we feel unsafe, we will shape-shift into different personas that we think will make us more loved and accepted by the people around us. We also tend to—when out of touch with our Truest Self—look outside ourselves for examples of how to dress, decorate, move about the world, be in relationship, how to build career, how to construct our days, raise a family, etc…
Home Example: you walk into your closet and your wardrobe looks exactly like this woman you follow on Instagram and you don’t feel a true, cozy connection to any of it.
Relationship Example: you have a super pessimistic friend or family member and although you are naturally a more optimistic, upbeat person, you lower your vibration when you are around them. You get a little darker and maybe even talk a little shit.
Health Example: nobody in your family has ever gone to therapy. You’ve only ever witnessed them talk negatively or critically about it. So, you don’t make the investment even though it would be so supportive to you.
So as you are starting to see, there are infinite ways we can add things (or not add things) into our lives whether they are aligned or not. And so much of this stems unfortunately from a lack of self-trust. From looking through other peoples lens instead of our own. But we’re here to change this way of existing, today. To build the self-trust to know exactly what to do with all this clutter.
Building self-trust begins in the body. When we feel safe in our body, we feel safe in our life.
We trust that our curiosity is our compass into our most aligned life.
We trust in our ability to make decisions, on our own.
We trust that we are fully capable of supporting ourselves financially or otherwise.
We trust that we are worth investing in and that we are our most prized possession.
A year ago I committed to doing 100 days of movement where I moved my body intentionally everyday, for 100 days. This practice has evolved into what I like to call my Daily Embodiment Check-in; a sacred ritual where I take anywhere from 5 minutes -1 hour to be inside my body and tune into it’s messages.
This week you will be returning to the wisdom of your body. It is not going to just magically happen overnight. There’s not going to be this huge tidal wave of, “I have arrived” or “ahaaaaaaa”. This is going to take a daily practice of tuning in, a slow softening to something so simple.
Trust me on this one. It. Takes. Time.
It takes showing up for yourself daily. Tuning in. Noticing the sensations.
I spent as much time as humanly possible staying outside of my body for most of my life because I didn’t feel safe in there. So, its taken time to teach my body and soul that they can cohabitate together in the most peaceful, unified, nourishing way. Over time, they have learned this. And now it’s the most sacred relationship I’ve ever felt.

the wisdom of your body
Week 2 Practice
Each day you will be getting back into your body and building your foundation of self-trust. This can look different everyday, or if you are like me, returning to the same practice each day would be helpful (for me, this looks like going on my daily walks). Make this your own and have it be anywhere from 10 - however many more minutes. Inhabit your body. Be fully with yourself.
Breathwork has been a powerful tool for building self-trust for me, which is why I partnered with Leah Vanderveldt, breathwork practitioner, for Module 2.
Below you will find a gorgeous Guided Breathwork Practice, one that I return to again and again. Add it into your routine this week and beyond. See how your body responds. Give your body the space it needs to build trust.

Journaling Prompts
What did my body say to me today?
When I scan my body from head to toe, where is the sensation intense and where is the sensation muffled?
What do I trust that I can do?
Where do I doubt my capacity?
