Welcome to unveiling week, love

LISTEN TO MODULE 3

We’ve spent time unpacking, clearing out everything, and the Shadow aspects, these hidden parts of ourselves, are the first thing we’re putting back. We’re going to find a safe and accepting space for them to live.

Getting familiar with the Shadow aspects of ourselves is a way into deep soul integration; a practice of gathering all of the pieces of us that we’ve tucked away at some point because we thought it would make us more loved or more accepted by the world around us. When we can see and accept all parts of us, even the messy, ugly bits, we can show up in life as the fully expressed human that we are.

Go ahead and watch this video and we will continue chatting on the other side of it…

So after hearing some of the ways that Shadow has shown up or me, did anything come to your mind? Did any past or current judgements pop up? What are the judgments? Get clear. What do they feel like in your body?

Another fun way ( ;-) ) you can get to know your shadow is by name calling. Has anybody else ever been called “bossy” and overreacted? This is because you’ve place “bossy” into your shadow and anytime it gets called out, this part of you gets hella triggered.

Some of this may have come up for you in your Life Audit. You might be noticing some parallels. So this week is about digging into that even more.

Week 3 Practice

You are going to continue with your body check-in’s and movement throughout the rest of our time together, and this week you are going to get familiar with the shadow parts of you, look at those aspects, and embrace them all. Work through these journaling prompts, and take them through the guided meditation below.

Journaling Prompts

  1. Write out a list of words that would trigger a strong emotional response if someone were to call you it. You can use this prompt to help you discover some of your shadow words:

“When someone calls me _________, I have an exaggerated response that looks like _________.” Write as many words out as you can!

  2. This time your list will be focused on your judgements of other people:

When I see someone doing _________ I have an elevated response that looks like _________.

Guided Meditation

Now, take 1 of the words (from either list) that came up through this guided meditation below. Go as deep as you can.

We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are.
